Android App Bug Fixes and a Free Version!

There was some kind of weird bug in the Android app that was causing all the icons in the menus to display the app icon instead of the correct icons with the Japanese Kanji characters.  It made the app look pretty bad too. I’m pleased to say though that that bug has been fixed.  Version 1.4 of the app is now available and if you’ve already downloaded the app you can install the update for free. I’m also pleased to announce that like the iOS version there’s now a free Android version! The free Android version doesn’t have all the emoticons that are available in the paid version and it does have ads but the favourites menu, create an emoticon screen and everything else works the same so you can test out the app first and see if you like it before downloading the paid version.

As always 5-star reviews are incredibly appreciated and they help the app get found on Google Play easier which is a huge help especially considering how many other apps there are out there that have taken their content directly form this site.

New iOS App Page

I’ve made a new page for the iOS app and I think it looks quite nice.  If you’re interested in learning a little bit more about the Japanese Emoticons iOS app click the link below, while if you want to try other type of apps or websites which also have a virtual girlfriend like hannahbecker online, there are sites for this as well.

Kaomoji Nail Art

I was browsing the Internet (for Japanese emoticon related things I swear! (~>ω>)~ ) and I stumbled upon a French blog called La Paillette Frondeuse and some pretty impressive kamoji nail art.   Check out some of the nail art below.  And you can check out the original post on their website here.  It’s a whole site about nail art so if that’s your thing then definitely check it out although everything is in French. Another Giant Website Update!

I’ve just made another giant update to the website and added over 600 new kaomoji emoticons bring the total up to 3,173! I’ve also added two new categories of kaomoji to the site as well, table flipping emoticons and emoticons with words.  I had a bunch of table flipping emoticons included on the other actions page but I’ve collected enough of them now that they needed their own page.  The other category includes kaomoji with words in them.  Normally I don’t really include words with the emoticons themselves but these ones are awesome enough that I felt they needed to be included on the site as well. Here are some of my favourite new emoticons from this update: ฅ^•ﻌ•^ฅ This cute little dog that could also be a cat. ∠( ᐛ 」∠)＿ This guy lying on his side is awesome and also reminds me very much of the Condescending Wonka meme. ੯ੁૂ‧̀͡u This is a really cute side profile of a dog. ୧(﹒︠ᴗ﹒︡)୨ This little guy is so happy and excited in a cute way. ⸍⚙̥ꇴ⚙̥⸌ I just like how crazy this one looks. (*σᴗσ)(ㅎᴗㅎ )　｜‸눈;) I love the guy spying on this couple from behind a wall. (ꐦ ´͈ ᗨ `͈ ) This is one of the most expressive kaomoji I’ve ever seen. ⁽⁽ƈ  ͡ (ु ˲̥̥̥́ ˱̥̥̥̀) ु⁾⁾ This poor guy fell over and hurt himself. ꉂ (๑¯ਊ¯)σ Some kind of ridiculous looking laughing bird. ꉂ ꀞꀞꀞ(ᕑᗢूᓫ∗)˒˒ Another excellent and super expressive laughing emoticon.  I like how there’s a ho ho ho included there too. ⸌̷̻( ᷇ॢ〰ॢ ᷆◍)⸌̷̻♡⃛ This is a pretty cute in love emoticon. (۶•౪•)۶❤٩(•౪•٩) These guys are pretty cute too. [+..••] An NES controller emoticon! ┌( ಠ_ಠ)┘This guy reminds me a lot of Captain Hindsight from South Park. ♪~♪ ヽ໒(⌒o⌒)७ﾉ ♪~♪ Another very expressive emoticon that’s singing. ♪٩(✿′ᗜ‵✿)۶♪ There’s something about using ᗜ for a mouth that makes these emoticons look much more expressive. (－‸ლ) The face palm.  This may be my new favourite Japanese emoticon! ( ･ㅂ･)و ̑̑ Success! :: (•ᴥ• )́`́’́`́’⻍ A kaomoji porcupine! (´•͈ुω•͈ू`) This shy little emoticon is pretty cute. ٩(ˊᗜˋ*)و Yawning from either waking up or going to sleep.  Once again using ᗜ for a mouth looks awesome. (•᷉ुε ू•᷈,) I’m not entirely sure what you’re talking about but colour me intrigued… Please enjoy all the new emoticons, they’re at the ends of their respective categories and feel free to continue to suggest new emoticons for me to add to the site as well!

The Android App is Working Now!

It’s looking now like the Android app is fixed and everything is working! Thanks everyone for being patient while I tried to get this fixed and a huge thanks to everyone who’s left a positive review and to everyone who has edited their negative reviews to make them positive. If for any reason the app is still crashing please uninstall it completely and then reinstall it.  This has fixed the issue for several people and make sure you’ve got version 1.2 installed. If the app still crashes after uninstalling and re-installing it please click the report button after the crash and I’ll get a notification in my Android Developers account with all the information I’ll need to get someone to fix it.  That’s actually a pretty cool feature.
