About Us
This is a site completely dedicated to the world of Japanese emoticons. ῍̻̩✧(´͈ ૢᐜ `͈ૢ)˖῍̻̩When Westerners type with a Roman keyboard they only have access to a very limited amount of 1-byte characters. This means that you can only really make simple looking emoticons such as :) or maybe ;P.Other languages however such as Japanese, Chinese, Russian, Korean, Thai, etc. have access to a ridiculous amount of 2-byte characters since their alphabets a much more complex than the Roman alphabet used in languages such as English, French or Spanish. This means you have a huge number of possibilities for making emoticons!Japan basically became famous for making awesome emoticons using this wide array of characters and called them Kaomoji which means “face marks” in English. There really isn’t any easy way for someone with a Roman keyboard to use these emoticons which is why I’ve assembled a giant collection of over 10,000 of these kaomoji emoticons on this site. You can’t really type these emoticons without a lot of effort but you can certainly copy them off this site and paste them into your chats, emails, tweets, Facebook updates or whatever you want. Not only that but we also have apps for iPhones, iPads and even Android so you can use Japanese emoticons on your phones or tablets! You’ll also find a section for Emoji emoticons as well and if you’re confused about the difference between emoji emoticons and kaomoji emoticons check out this page explaining the difference. While I don’t own a copyright for any of these emoticons I did put a giant amount of time and work into this site. I followed a ton of Japanese people on Twitter and many visitors to this site sent in kaomoji suggestions of their own. You’re completely free to use these emoticons however you’d like but please don’t be a dick and steal everything off this site and claim it as your own. If you must lift entire lists of emoticons from this site please include a link back to this site saying where you got them from.Other than that please enjoy all the emoticons on this site and feel absolutely free to contact me to suggest more emoticons that you’d like added to the collection!
