Over the last several weeks I’ve been doing a massive clean-up and re-organization of the site. What I did was take each category and break it up into smaller sections of similar emoticons. I did this for several reasons:
Exciting news everyone! You no longer have to select the text of the emoticon and then right click > copy or ctrl + c to copy the emoticon any more! Now you’ll notice the emoticons will all change colour on mouse-over and then if you click on it it’ll be copied to your clipboard! You do have to have flash enabled though. It uses a tiny flash video to copy the emoticon. Apparently there are security reasons that make it very difficult for your browser to automatically access your systems clipboard so using flash looks like the only way to make it work. This is something I’ve been trying to figure out how to do for a long time now and I’m super happy it’s finally working. Enjoy! ＼＼\(۶•̀ᴗ•́)۶//／／
The other day Tumblr user astrologysky (http://astrologysky.tumblr.com) made this awesome post with the signs as Japanese emoticons: http://astrologysky.tumblr.com/post/120342650922/the-signs-as-japanese-emoticons We thought it was quite awesome and decided to make another infographic-like graphic for it. Feel free to share this graphic anywhere you’d like and also be sure to check out astrologysky on Tumblr if you’re interested in that sort of thing. Enjoy!
Over the next little while I’m going to be doing a giant site-wide emoticon clean-up. Some of the categories such as happy emoticons or angry emoticons have a huge number of emoticons all collected together at random. I’m going to be re-organizing them putting similar looking emoticons together in tables, much like the holidays page or words page, which should hopefully make it much, much easier to find the kaomoji or donger you’re looking for. I also know that I’ve seen duplicate emoticons on some of the pages so hopefully I’ll find all of those during this process and get those removed. There’s also bunch of broken emoticons that for whatever reason have missing characters or other weirdness. During this process I’m going to do my best to rebuild any broken ones as well. I’ve also got a couple of new categories I’m thinking about adding in which should also make it a bit easier to find what you’re looking for. I have no idea how long this is going to take since there are over 10,000 Japanese emoticons on this site but I’m going to slowly plug away at it over the next while and hopefully you’ll notice the improvements and it’ll help make things easier. Thanks as always for all your support and for using this site! ٩(^ᴗ^)۶
I’ve seen the following graphic shared a lot on the Internet over the years. As all of you are no doubt aware though Japanese emoticons have become a lot more detailed and crazy. These are simple, “entry level” Japanese emoticons and since this graphic was created people have created tons of awesome, more advanced kaomoji emoticons. So I decided to create my own sort of infographic to sort of highlight how advanced Japanese emoticons have become. I call it, “advanced Japanese emoticons”. I’m pretty happy with how it turned out and it features some of my all-time favourite kaomojis. Hopefully this will help people to realize how far Japanese emoticons have become and help advertise the site a bit. Feel free to download this image and share it wherever you want!
